Karen Massey is a highly regarded nursing professional whose career is rooted in critical care at Tallaght University Hospital (TUH). During her time there, she was a standout TCD student nurse and eventually progressed to pivotal roles, including Emergency Response Team (ERT) Nurse and one of the hospital’s first Clinical Support Nurse Managers at Night. Her clinical excellence and leadership were formally recognized in 2018 when she received the hospital’s Teamwork Award, with colleagues praising her ability to remain calm in high-pressure environments and her dedication to educating and inspiring fellow staff members. Karen has now progressed to Deputy General Manager in Naas Hospital.
Beyond her clinical duties, Karen’s professional ethos naturally aligns with coaching, as she has consistently focused on mentoring and personal development. Her transition into coaching reflects a commitment to helping others "unlock" their potential and navigate complex transitions, much like she helped staff and patients navigate the complexities of the ICU. By blending her extensive medical background with a focus on mindset and resilience, she offers a unique perspective that empowers individuals to lead with confidence and clarity, bridging the gap between professional excellence and personal fulfillment.
"Karen has this incredible ability to stay calm and focused, which I first witnessed during our time together at Trinity. In our coaching sessions, she used that same steady presence to help me work through a major career transition. She pushed me to stop settling for 'fine' and start building a life that actually excites me. It’s been the most transformative six months of my professional life."

"I was skeptical about life coaching until I sat down with Karen. She has a 'sixth sense' for identifying the mental blocks you don't even know you have. Her background in critical care gives her a unique perspective on what actually matters in life. She helped me strip away the noise, trust my intuition, and finally take the leap into the new business venture I’d been putting off for years."

"I remember Karen as a student at Trinity; she possessed a level of emotional intelligence that you simply cannot teach. While her clinical skills were flawless, it was her ability to mentor her peers and advocate for the 'whole person'—not just the patient—that stood out. Seeing her move into life coaching feels like the most natural progression in the world; she’s been coaching people toward their best selves since the day she stepped onto the wards."

"I met Karen at a leadership seminar years ago and was immediately struck by her 'presence.' Coming from a background at TCD and the front lines of healthcare, she brings a grounded, no-nonsense energy to every conversation. Even in a brief networking chat, she has a way of asking the exact right question that makes you re-evaluate your entire approach to a problem. She is a natural-born catalyst for growth."
